On March 5th, 2026, Santa Ursula Jakarta Campus warmly welcomed sisters and teachers from across the globe who were attending the Asia Pacific Ursuline Education Conference (APUEC). Those who visited our campus came from Japan, Senegal, Thailand, France, Australia, and India. On this occasion, the guests were given the opportunity to explore the Santa Ursula Jakarta Campus, from the kindergarten to the senior high school. Upon arrival, they were welcomed by representatives from each school level who helped escort them to join the opening ceremony. The activity continued with a tour starting from the Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus where all of us took a picture together. Arriving at the kindergarten area, a student helped explain the area including their daily activities at school. Continuing the tour, the guests got a short explanation about the elementary school area by two student representatives. Following that, guests also watched our senior high school students from the Putri Santa Ursula Marching Brass (PSUMB) perform a special performance which included an Indonesian medley song and “Don’t Stop” by Michael Jackson. Their performance brought awe to our international audience before carrying on to the educational exhibition. The small exhibition presented various creations from art to scientific experiments made by the students. Before leaving the area, friends from the elementary level prepared a gamelan performance, a traditional musical instrument originated from Java. The elementary school students performed the song Insieme, which was greatly enjoyed by the international audience. Insieme embodies togetherness, conveyed through the song’s melody.
The tour went on to Santa Ursula’s theater room, where the international audience was presented with short movie clips from cinematography humanities students. The school tour continued to explore classrooms and learning activities in junior high school. Next, the international guests were warmly welcomed in the Santa Ursula Junior and Senior High School library which is equipped with various facilities and infrastructure such as books, reading materials, and several lounges that support comfortable reading areas. Before exploring the senior high’s unit, the guests were greeted with the performance of Kolintang, Minahasa
traditional wood instrumental, from fellow senior students in the Kolintang Santa Ursula (KOALA) community. Students performed two songs, which were Tian Mi Mi and also Manuk Dadali. The guests also had a chance to try out the instruments themselves with the students. Afterwards, the guests were led to the first floor new buildings area and also the teachers’ heritage-style corridor. They were greeted with the warmest welcome from all teachers and students. After exploring the school facilities, the international guests were invited to the third floor to enjoy some traditional Indonesian snacks that had been thoughtfully prepared. Among these delicacies was kue putu ayu, a traditional cake, which was specially made by the junior high school students of Santa Ursula Jakarta. This moment not only allowed the visitors to experience Indonesia’s rich culinary heritage, but also reflected the students’ active participation in sharing their culture.
After enjoying snacks and a warm cup of coffee, the guests were directed into a gathering room, where they received a school profile presentation. The visit was followed by a warm and lively lunch held at the junior high school hall. The guests were served kue pukis as an appetizer, made by the kindergarten students. Senior high students from cooking humanities served soto ayam, a traditional Indonesian chicken soup, with accompaniments such as tofu, tempe, and quail eggs to the guests as the main course. Lastly, the elementary students served es kuwut as a cool dessert served for the international guests. As they enjoyed their meal, the audience was serenaded by the Santa Ursula Orchestra (OHANA), who performed Insieme along with several Indonesian folklore songs. The performance beautifully captured the spirit of unity and harmony. The visit was brought to an end with heartfelt words of gratitude delivered by representatives of the Ursuline sisters from Jakarta and Australia. Moreover, several participants also took part in a podcast session with SanurFM, where they shared their impressions, reflections, and memorable moments from their visit. They were also given souvenirs from Santa Ursula Jakarta Campus as a farewell gift.
Through this meaningful experience, the spirit of SERVIAM, especially unity, service, and totality, was clearly reflected in every part of the experience.
